The return of an item takes no more than the simple placing of one or more books on the library trolley. Nowhere. That’s all. No more queues, no more waiting in line. Thanks to our direct link to your library management system, each item returned is automatically saved. No passes need to be scanned. Just let it go.
Whenever one of your smart library carts is almost full, just don’t click on it from the information terminal, and roll it into your library where you can return the books to the shelves or make the cart available in the “just returned” section. In the meantime, all you must do is click on an empty cart in the information terminal so that lenders have an empty cart at their disposal!
Normally, after check-in, an item can be behind the counter for at least a day. With a smart shelf solution, it is available immediately. As a result, in libraries that use a smart return cart for return items, 25% of all returned items are directly picked up from the carts by other customers and removed on the same day. This greatly increases circulation and reduces the amount of time staff need to spend on shelving.
