    ENHANCE CD AND DVD DETECTION PERFORMANCE

    The NEDAP label booster is an exclusive RFID solution for managing special items such as CDs, CD-ROMs and DVDs.
    The performance of standard RFID labels applied to CDs and DVDs is reduced by the label size and metal in CDs / DVDs. This reduces the placement of reading and detecting labels as such. The Booster labels were specially developed by Nedap for these library items. The use of label Booster optimizes the performance of identification / anti-theft functions at self-service meters and especially between EAS antennas significantly.

    RFID TAGS 

    RFID tags consist of a chip / antenna combination placed on a plastic inlay. The tag has a read / write memory, in combination with an anti-theft function. After the Return, at the departure counter, the anti-theft function is automatically deactivated. When the label is read, the item automatically receives the corresponding status in the library management system and the security state is set. 

    RFID AND METAL 

    RFID has many advantages to easily identify an object, but like all other technologies, it also has its restrictions. The amplest restriction of RFID is metal. When a product with an RFID tag is placed near a metallized object or the object to be identified is metallic, the reading range will be significantly reduced. Metal absorbs energy, so there may not be enough energy left for an RFID tag to send the information to an RFID reader. 

    LABEL QUALITY 

    The quality of RFID tags used in a library is one of the factors for successful implementation of RFID. The RFID reader sends energy to the tag so that it can transmit the information it contains. The signal sent by the tag must be strong enough to be detected by the reader.
